MBBS ENTRY TEST/ MCAT ENTRY TEST.

Every year students of after passing their A-level / HSC examinations in pre-medical appear in the entrance test to get admission in medical colleges for their MBBS/BDS to be a doctor.

Now after the establishment of the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) formerly known as the PMDC test pattern and weightage of the subjects for the test have been changed as candidates must obtain 60% marks from the test of 200 MCQs (80, 60, 40, 20 Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English respectively).

This time PMC is wishing to conduct computer-based tests throughout Pakistan.

Students get worried about catching seats at MBBS as competition remains always tough because thousands of cream students from the country prepare themselves for the test. Here are some tips for test preparation.

1. Goodbye Mobile Phone.

1. Goodbye Mobile.
Students mistakenly think that the internet always helps them in their preparation for this purpose they use mobile phones ultimately social media which causes a huge loss of time and students can not manage time for their preparations properly.

2. Time management.

Time management means the use of time properly to complete the tasks to achieve the goal.  for this purpose, management starts from the target. After setting a target you must set your priorities means what you have to do first and why?

It may be on the basis of weightage of marks-  Subject having more weightage has more time for study or subject which you think is more difficult for you, it should have ideal time for study.

Priority does not mean that all time is for those tasks but the time limit for every subject is a must, so set a time limit according to the course length, easiness, or difficult subject for you.

Always take a rest, have fun, take tea, a little walk, and change your position to refresh it will energize you to do your studies in the best and comfortable way.

In this manner, you will be organized if not you have to organize yourself, for this purpose you have to remove non-essential tasks from your routine like chatting, use of social media, wasting time on Whatsapp groups for so-called study/ preparation.

if you feel any to do change in your plans according to time, need you can. The key to success is consistency, sincerity, and the right path.

Always follow the instructions of your teachers, tutors parents, and seniors but do not ask many people what to do for the preparation but start and keep continue till success, there no shortcut for success.

3. Don't randomize your course.

It has been seen students do not follow the course content list or series of topic resulting, in the end, they do not know what has been done and what is to be done yet, to avoid this situation always make series of topic and focus on the one topic at a time, when you study a topic, do the practice of that topic, solve questions of that topic, ask about that topic only. never do mistakes as many students do that they study a topic and solve questions of other topics it will increase your worries when you can not solve questions of the topic which is not studied by you yet, so always be a learner who learns step by step learning.
4. Start from the Text Book.
Students do a common mistake that they do not fully cover their textbooks, and they start to follow other reference books/guides/MCQs books, which makes them unfamiliar with the topics to be covered according to the level of the textbook.
So it is mandatory that all of you must cover your text first then try other books and exercises. kick out the thoughts from your mind that studying many books at a time is key to success, but studying in the right way is the key to success so decide what to study according to your test requirements and syllabus.
5. Study for building up your Knowledge

Some students got a habit to confuse others by asking questions, mostly they try to win local competitions by asking out of syllabus questions and they waste their time to search these type of questions on the internet, actually, they are wasting time which results in failure in their selection because of low merit in their performance on the test/exam ground. ultimately they start blaming the system, time, luck, etc. if you want to save yourself, study for knowledge which is needed for the test not for to be the famous in the society as so-called intelligent (PARHAKOOO..)
6. Test day

Finish study before 10pm on test day night, prepare test day material which is to be with you at the test and have a sound sleep, get up early in the morning offer prayers, take bath, have your favorite healthy breakfast, and reach early at the test center.
At the test center follow the instructions properly, don't worry keep it in your mind MBBS is not the only option.
Start test read instructions carefully, read the questions paper first, and decide questions whose answers are 100% known to you. fill their option carefully on the OMR sheet.
Then start to attempt remaining questions don't waste time on questions which are time taking attempt first which are easy and less time taking, at the last consume your time on time taking questions. Finish your paper by keeping in mind that you have to manage the time as well.
